NC Film Festival premia Pam Grier

Actress Pam Grier will be honored next month during a North Carolina film festival.The Winston-Salem Journal reports that Grier will receive a "master of cinema award" during the RiverRun International Film Festival in Winston-Salem.

Grier is a Winston-Salem native who appears in the Showtime series "The L Word." She's best known for starring in blaxploitation movies in the 1970s.

What did you think about the “The L Word” finale? The “Talice” ending?
Rose said, “I thought it was really sad.” She goes on to explain that even thought it happens all the time it’s sad when someone you care about starts to like someone else.

What do you want to say to “Talice” fans that hated the ending?
“It’s not over until it’s over.” Rose told me, "What happens in season six has not been decided yet." Ilene is allowing input from many sources. "Nothing is written in stone" she says.

Is eight enough episodes to tell the final story?
“Yeah, I think so. I think it will be tighter, more focused.”

Who should Tasha “hook-up” with if she breaks up with Alice?
Rose said, "that’s tough." She explains that she’s really close to some of the cast, so she wasn’t sure if a relationship would “work” with some of them. She said it might be better to introduce someone new.

How do you like the idea of Tasha becoming a cop?
“I like it. It has a great deal of potential,” Rose said.
